Pre-Game Ceremonies
On the eve of his induction into the Mets Hall of Fame, former manager Bobby Valentine again wore his famous disguise — sunglasses and fake mustache — while throwing out the ceremonial first pitch at Citi Field, continuing a tradition that has become his signature pre-game ritual.
Injury Woes
The Tigers' already thin starting rotation took another hit as they placed Casey Mize on the 15-day injured list with right adductor inflammation, while the White Sox announced star first baseman Munetaka Murakami will miss 4-6 weeks with a Grade 2 right hamstring strain, creating significant gaps in both teams' lineups.
Roster Adjustments
The Twins made a pitching change by designating struggling starter Simeon Woods Richardson for assignment and recalling rookie John Klein to provide immediate depth to their rotation amid a challenging stretch of games.
