Under the agreement, CPP Investments will sell its 33.9% stake and OMERS will sell its 30.0% holding. Together, that gives the IFM fund 63.9% of the business. The rest of ABP’s shareholder base stays in place, and IFM said it looks forward to working with its "fellow shareholders".
ABP is the UK's largest ports group by tonnage. It runs 19 facilities and handles about 25% of the country's seaborne trade. It has also become central to the energy transition, supporting more than half of the UK's offshore wind industry."We are pleased to have reached an agreement where a fund managed by IFM would acquire a majority stake in ABP, the UK's largest ports group with strategically located assets serving some of the country's most important trade and industrial regions," said Kyle Mangini, Global Head of Infrastructure at IFM Investors.
