KKR has agreed to acquire a 50% stake in a 1.2 GW portfolio of onshore solar and wind assets across Europe from Total Energies. This deal involves KKR deploying insurance capital into the €1.8 billion renewables portfolio.

Menlo Ventures' Matt Murphy indicated that artificial intelligence is driving the firm toward larger deal sizes. The firm is looking to deploy its new $3 billion in capital into promising AI ventures. Permira has partially exited its investment in sustainable fashion brand Reformation through its initial public offering. Reformation and its shareholders raised $210.9 million in the IPO, which was priced at the lower end of its projected range. Cortec is reportedly preparing to launch a sale process for A1 Garage Door Service. Cortec had previously invested in A1 Garage Door Service in 2019 and supported at least 17 add-on acquisitions since then.

Investor Strategies and Networking Platforms

New York State Teachers' Retirement System (NYSTRS) has outlined its private equity pacing strategy for fiscal year 2027. NYSTRS intends to commit up to $2.7 billion to the private equity asset class during that fiscal year. PE Club founded by Nicolas Paulmier, is transforming former private equity executives' networks into a platform for limited partners (LPs). The firm's LPs typically consist of serial entrepreneurs, ex-CEOs, and partners or former partners from major European private equity firms.
