OpenAI has launched the OpenAI Deployment Company, a new dedicated entity designed to help organizations build reliable AI systems for daily operations. The initiative will embed specialized Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) to work alongside business teams, identifying where AI can create the most impact and redesigning critical workflows around these technologies.

The company launches with $4 billion in initial investment and will incorporate Tomoro, an applied AI consulting firm, bringing approximately 150 experienced engineers. Partners include 19 global investment firms, consultancies, and system integrators led by TPG, with Bain Capital and Brookfield as co-lead founding partners.

Deployment Company engineers will help customers move from identifying AI opportunities to building production systems that deliver measurable results. The acquisition of Tomoro will accelerate this process, bringing deep experience in building real-time AI systems for companies like Tesco and Virgin Atlantic in environments where reliability matters most.

OpenAI CEO Denise Dresser stated, "AI is becoming capable of doing increasingly meaningful work inside organizations. The challenge now is helping companies integrate these systems into the infrastructure and workflows that power their businesses." The new venture aims to bridge this gap between AI capability and practical implementation.
