OpenAI has pledged up to $1.5bn to a joint venture with private equity firms, aiming to dominate the enterprise AI market. The partnership, named DeployCo, will initially receive $500mn from OpenAI, with a potential additional $1bn later. Valued at $10bn, the fund will integrate OpenAI’s tools into businesses via embedded engineers, mirroring Palantir’s successful model.

Investors including TPG, Bain Capital, and Advent International will contribute $4bn, targeting a 17.5% annual return over five years. This move intensifies competition with Anthropic, whose enterprise revenue has surged, and signals OpenAI’s push to monetize its AI capabilities beyond consumer applications.
