OpenAI and Dell Technologies are partnering to deploy Codex inside hybrid and on-premises enterprise environments where critical data already lives. With over 4 million developers using Codex weekly, the model has grown well beyond code review and test coverage into incident response, repository reasoning, and business workflows like lead qualification and report preparation.

The deal connects Codex to the Dell AI Data Platform, giving it governed access to codebases, documentation, and operational knowledge. Dell's Ihab Tarazi said the collaboration lets enterprises deploy AI where enterprise data already lives, within their premises, providing a secure path to scaling AI agents.

For customers, this means Codex can run closer to production data with the compliance controls large organizations demand, supporting more use cases across development and knowledge work. Teams can build, test, and deploy with richer context without moving sensitive data to the cloud.
