HP Inc. is scaling its OpenAI Frontier strategic partnership after a series of successful pilot programs across multiple business areas. The company began testing the platform in February 2026, and early results showed engineers moving through 122 pull requests across 43 projects in just weeks. Security teams also used OpenAI models to remediate several software bugs in a day—work they estimated could have taken up to a month.

The partnership will deploy AI across HP's global operations, focusing on customer-facing solutions, partner experiences, and internal workflows. With 80% of HP's business flowing through partners and over 100,000 partners using the Partner Portal globally, Frontier will create a unified self-service layer for store, partner, chat, and voice experiences. This reduces friction and speeds up routine workflows for customers and partners alike.

Security applications showed particular promise, with teams proactively remediating critical vulnerabilities and speeding analysis across tools. HP estimates roughly 82 hours per week of security-team capacity have been unlocked. Engineers are using ChatGPT for knowledge work and Codex for modernization, UI scaffolding, and parallel software delivery tasks.

Frontier provides HP with the connective layer needed to govern AI deployment across its distributed organization. The platform connects access, context, deployment, and evaluation as work moves from pilot programs toward production. This represents HP's shift toward an AI-driven operating model where pilot momentum becomes a repeatable system for enterprise-wide transformation.
