Zachtronics, known for its complex programming puzzle games, is making its title EXAPUNKS available again through physical zine sets. Originally released in 2018, the game tasks players with programming EXAs (Execution Agents) to infiltrate various systems, from banks to personal hardware. The zines offer tutorials and commentary from the in-game publication, TRASH WORLD NEWS.

These zine sets, priced at $7 plus shipping, are now available via print-on-demand through Lulu. This marks a return for the physical deluxe edition, which had previously sold out. The zines provide players with in-universe lore and practical hacking advice, extending the game's narrative and educational elements beyond the digital experience.

EXAPUNKS features a custom puzzle creation tool called Axiom Virtual Network+, which uses JavaScript to define hosts, files, and puzzle logic. Players can hack everything from corporate servers to personal devices, and even create their own games for the TEC Redshift console if they can hack its development kit. The relaunch focuses on delivering this unique blend of programming challenge and narrative to fans.

The availability of these physical zines offers a tangible connection to the game's intricate world and its embedded computer science themes, catering to both existing fans and newcomers intrigued by its unique premise.
