Wildcard, a Y Combinator W25 startup, is actively hiring its first Founding Engineer to build an agentic commerce optimization platform. The company aims to help ecommerce and retail brands manage their presence across AI shopping agents, offering visibility, recommendations, and automation.

This founding engineer will own product and infrastructure end-to-end, working directly with founder Kaushik Mahorker, formerly of Scale AI. The role demands high agency, speed, and expertise in AI coding tools. Projects may include scaling browser orchestration, building reliable workflows with queues and observability, developing attribution systems, and adapting to emerging agentic commerce protocols.

The ideal candidate possesses prior founding or early-stage startup experience, strong full-stack skills, and a proven ability to ship independently. Experience with TypeScript, Node.js, Postgres, Redis, and browser automation is preferred. This position offers significant influence over product, architecture, and company direction from the outset.
