The project tracks decommissioned kiosks before they disappear entirely, cataloging their new roles in villages and towns across the UK. Photographer and explorer behind the effort visits each location to record its current purpose and stories.

The shift began as mobile phones rendered public payphones obsolete, leaving thousands of K6 kiosks vulnerable to removal. British Telecom started decommissioning these structures in the 2000s, creating urgency for preservation through adoption programs. Many communities have stepped in to save their local landmarks, converting them into defibrillator stations, mini libraries, and neighborhood information centers.

Rural areas show the most creative adaptations, with kiosks becoming defibrillator sites, book exchanges, and village notice boards. The project maintains an online database documenting each kiosk's location, new function, and adoption story. Social media channels provide personal narratives behind these transformations.

This grassroots documentation effort preserves both architectural heritage and community innovation, showing how obsolete infrastructure finds new life through local initiative rather than corporate intervention.
