Sherline Tools Closing After Decades of USA Manufacturing

Sherline Tools, a USA manufacturer known for precision lathes, mills, micro-machining accessories, and small CNC machines, has announced they are "winding down manufacturing operations."

The owners, who took over in 2017, invested in new products, modernized systems, and upgraded manufacturing processes. Unfortunately, COVID, rising costs, and shifting consumer habits made it difficult for a small American manufacturer to remain competitive.

Sherline plans to continue building and selling machines, tooling, accessories, and replacement parts through the end of October 2026, though some operations requiring larger equipment will end sooner. They will maintain an online presence, address warranty issues, and keep technical resources available.

One owner posted to Facebook that by end of year at latest, Sherline will no longer be in business. Equipment is being "removed from service," suggesting liquidation. Sad news for a storied USA micro-machining brand.
