ReactOS celebrated its 30th anniversary today, marking three decades since the first commit to its source tree. The milestone underscores the project’s mission to deliver open‑source Windows‑compatible apps and drivers.

After years of fragmented testing, a dedicated effort began to overhaul the test suite. The collection, once a mix of ad‑hoc and heavily modified Wine tests, was reorganized to run against Windows Server 2003 and newer releases.

In May 2024, developer Carl Bialorucki joined the core team and led the release of ReactOS 0.4.15 in March 2025. His leadership culminated in a full‑time contract with ReactOS Deutschland e.V., signaling a new era of structured development.

These strides in testing and governance position ReactOS to tackle modern hardware support, especially for Vista‑era graphics drivers, and reinforce its long‑term commitment to a trustworthy, open‑source Windows experience.
