Palmier Pro is a new open-source video editor for macOS, co-founded by Marcos and Harrison, designed to integrate AI generation directly into the editing workflow. Initially developed as an internal tool to streamline the process of creating AI-generated launch videos, Palmier Pro addresses the cumbersome iteration loop between AI platforms and traditional video editors.

Key features allow agents to manage projects, import and search media (using local embedding models like SigLIP2), edit timelines, and generate various media types. LLMs can interact with the editor via a local MCP server or an in-app chat, leveraging tools and APIs exposed by the editor. This allows for automated, large-scale video editing and faster iteration.

Built with Swift for performance and minimal dependencies, Palmier Pro utilizes native macOS APIs and runs models like SpeechAnalyzer and SigLip2 locally. While not supporting Linux or Windows, the editor is free to try, with generative AI features requiring a login and subscription. The core editor, MCP server, and agent chat are open-source under GPLv3.
