The NetBSD Project announces NetBSD 9.5, the final release from the NetBSD 9 stable branch. This version includes a selected subset of fixes deemed important for security and stability since the release of NetBSD 9.4 in April 2024. Fully compatible with NetBSD 9.0, this update serves as the last in the nine series.

This release also marks the end-of-life for all NetBSD-9.x versions and the netbsd-9 branch. Users still on this branch are urgently advised to update to a more recent release. Options include NetBSD 11.0, with NetBSD 11.1 expected at the end of the month, or NetBSD 10.2, scheduled for release in a few days.
