A new suite of Max/MSP externals, named max-studio-tools, has been released, emulating essential studio gear. The collection includes several equalizer models: Air EQ, Bloom EQ, Contour EQ, Focus EQ, and Silk EQ, each offering distinct tonal shaping and saturation characteristics.

Complementing the EQs are a range of compressor emulations: Glide Compressor, Level Compressor, Punch Compressor, Smooth Compressor, and Snap Compressor. These cover various compression types, from optical to FET and VCA, providing versatile dynamic control options. Each device supports optional oversampling up to 8x.

These externals are foundational to multiple Max for Live devices developed by Nyquist Limited. Sound demonstrations for the studio EQs and compressors are available online. The build script has been tested on Mac OS, with Windows cross-compilation supported via mingw-w64. Dependencies include cmake, min-devkit, r8brain-free-src, and compiler tools from llvm.

The repository incorporates modified or ported code from numerous open-source audio projects, including those from airwindows, lkjb-plugins, ABSounds, Chowdhury-DSP, and others.
