HackerTube is a YouTube-style interface built from 6,454 videos recommended in 39,834 Hacker News comments since 2007. Created by karpathy using Opus 5.5, the tool filters HN comments, removes spam, and curates high-quality video recommendations across 150 topics. The site features a clean UI, custom thumbnails, personalized recommendations without accounts, keyboard shortcuts, and data export for agent use.
Built in under two hours, it offers an alternative to YouTube’s algorithm-driven “enshittified” feed. HackerTube is live at hackertube.org and reflects a growing trend of community-curated media platforms.
