Mozilla has released a Preview of Containers in Firefox version 153, a feature that allows users to isolate different aspects of their online life—such as work, shopping, and personal browsing—within the same browser window. This separation ensures that cookies and ad tracking remain confined to their respective containers, preventing cross-contextual data exposure and targeted advertising.

Previously available as the Multi-Account Containers extension, this functionality is now a built-in feature of Firefox. The integration aims to make container management more accessible and seamless, with containers visible by default and easier to create and manage directly within the browser. Users can open tabs in specific containers, customize them with unique names, colors, and icons, and manage settings through Firefox's settings interface.

While this preview release doesn't include all features from the original add-on, Mozilla plans to develop it further. Users can continue to use the extension alongside the native implementation.
