Fairphone 6+ Camera Update & Emergency Call Test

Today I bring the working main camera! Using nondescriptpointer’s wide‑lens driver, I added support for the main camera with auto focus and color correction (still a work in progress). The image is clearer but grain and JPG noise remain; compared to my Galaxy A16 there is work to do, yet I wanted to share something today (to send to nondescriptpointer).

I asked about his role in upstreaming; he will send the patch and I will review it. Emergency calling was untested, so I called the non‑emergency police line, got an email to submit my application, and the test was approved for August 18 between 13:30‑14:15, confirming emergency calling works on the Linux phone.

I’m excited about the Fairphone 6+; once I can buy one I’ll test it and fix any issues. Donations let me justify the purchase instead of spending 650 euros on a phone I already own. A script creates a live financial dashboard at https://catcrafts.net/financials, showing expenses and reflecting donations via https://catcrafts.net/shop/donation.

Catcrafts plans to become a non‑profit (stichting) pending legal approval; any salary will be public. Shipping is limited to the Netherlands, Germany, Norway and other regions due to liability insurance and sanctions. The Fairphone (Gen 6) runs postmarketOS on Linux 7.1.2 across carriers KPN NL, Telekom Deutschland, Phonero and Telia Norge.
