Anthropic gates biology usage, hires biologists, sets up wet labs, and wants discoveries for themselves. Tuberculosis has been curable for decades, yet a million die yearly. AGI won't fix distribution. Dario is torn: he wants street cred as a power wielder but also to seem cautious. He accepts deaths from economic disruption but not bioweapons. He's said software development will be solved in "6-12 months" forever.

He wants a "race to the top" for safety, but the main ask is: trust us, only us.
