Blue Origin unveiled TeraWave, a satellite network promising 6 Tbps of symmetrical data speeds globally. The architecture uses 5,408 optically interconnected satellites in LEO and MEO orbits. It targets enterprise, data center, and government customers needing reliable high-throughput links in underserved areas where fiber is impractical.

This multi-orbit design aims to complement existing fiber backhaul with unique RF and optical connectivity. Customers can access up to 144 Gbps via Q/V-band links from 5,280 LEO satellites, or 6 Tbps through optical links from 128 MEO satellites. The system offers both point-to-point connectivity and enterprise-grade internet access.

Deployment is slated to begin in Q4 2027. The move positions Blue Origin as a competitor in the burgeoning satellite megaconstellation market, challenging established players like SpaceX's Starlink. It addresses growing demand for redundant, scalable global connectivity, particularly for critical operations in remote and suburban regions.
