Apple Removes 'Anything' App Over Guidelines

Apple has removed the 'Anything' vibe coding app from the App Store, citing violations of its App Review Guidelines. The tech giant specifically referenced section 2.5.2, which requires apps to be self-contained and prohibits downloading or executing code that introduces new functionality. This action follows Apple's recent crackdown on several development tools that allow code generation outside of App Store review.

The developer of 'Anything', Dhruv Amin, attempted to address Apple's concerns by modifying the app to display previews in a web browser rather than in-app. Despite this adjustment, Apple rejected the update and pulled the app entirely. The company maintains that it's not against educational coding apps per se, but those that violate its Developer Program License by changing their primary purpose through generated code.

Apple's selective enforcement raises questions about its approach to development tools. While 'Anything' has been removed, similar apps like Replit and Vibecode remain available in the App Store. The tech giant has not commented on why it targeted 'Anything' specifically. This incident highlights Apple's continued strict interpretation of its guidelines regarding code execution and app functionality.
