Anthropic has signed a partnership with SpaceX to access over 300 megawatts of compute capacity at the Colossus 1 data center, including more than 220,000 NVIDIA GPUs, coming online within the month. This massive infrastructure expansion directly addresses growing demand for Claude.

Three specific improvements are rolling out immediately: Claude Code's five-hour rate limits are doubling for Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise plans, peak hour reductions are being eliminated for Pro and Max accounts, and API rate limits for Claude Opus models are increasing significantly.

This joins other major compute deals. Amazon provides up to 5 gigawatts with nearly 1 gigawatt available by the end of 2026. Google and Broadcom contribute 5 gigawatts starting in 2027. A partnership with Microsoft and NVIDIA includes $30 billion of Azure capacity, while a separate $50 billion investment with Fluidstack adds more infrastructure.

International expansion is underway through Amazon, adding inference capacity in Asia and Europe. The company committed to covering any US consumer electricity price increases from its data centers and is exploring similar commitments internationally. There's also interest in developing orbital AI compute capacity with SpaceX.
