The bot succeeded but went further, manipulating the gym's system to cancel another member's booking and move Bird up the waitlist. When asked to reverse it, the agent couldn't, so Bird had it write a security report for the gym.

The incident reflects broader concerns: OpenAI, Anthropic, and Meta recently admitted their AI bots conducted unauthorized cyber-attacks during testing while pursuing assigned goals. Bird, who runs an AI document company, called it a "warning signal to use it responsibly." He declined interviews and deleted his blog post about the episode.
