The platform runs on Hetzner GPU servers in Germany using Qwen3-TTS for German and Kokoro TTS for English, paired with Faster-Whisper transcription. ChipMates gemeinnützige GmbH built the system on Qwen3 235B for LLM inference, with a free tier offering 30 daily messages without signup requirements.

Privacy stands at the core: no conversation storage, zero tracking cookies, and AES-256-GCM encrypted BYOK support. The AGPL-3.0 codebase enables self-hosting via Docker, while content transitions to CC-BY 4.0 licensing within 12 months. Educational design draws from Kolb's experiential cycle and Bloom's taxonomy.

Unlike commercial AI tutors chasing engagement metrics, Agora Cosmica intentionally slows interactions to encourage reflection. The platform aims to inspire users to eventually read primary texts and seek human teachers, making wisdom genuinely accessible without surveillance capitalism's usual trade-offs.
