Everton-Besitzer suchen nach neuen Investoren nach Übernahme 2024

Everton Football Club’s billionaire owners, The Friedkin Group, are seeking new investors less than two years after buying the club from Farhad Moshiri for about £330mn in late 2024. The process, still in early stages, could bring in a significant stake sale, though no deal is guaranteed. This follows a summer transfer window where Premier League clubs spent a record €4.1bn on players, while Everton spent just under €103mn and raised €129mn from sales.

Fan backlash grew after key departures and a failed £40mn bid for Folarin Balogun. Dan Friedkin, chair and CEO of TFG, has a $13bn fortune from Toyota dealerships and piloted a Spitfire in Dunkirk. The Friedkins slashed club debt and secured new stadium financing with JPMorgan after taking over.

Everton, a nine-time English league champion last victorious in 1987, narrowly avoided relegation in 2023. The move reflects a trend of consortium ownership amid rising Premier League costs.
