VIVE Eagle, HTC's new AI smart glasses, has launched in Europe, North America, and Australia. The fashionable eyewear combines advanced features with a privacy-centric approach designed to protect both the wearer and people around them. The built-in VIVE AI offers live translation for speech and text, and can connect to a smartphone's AI to perform actions.

Privacy is central to VIVE Eagle's design. HTC has confirmed that VIVE AI does not use any user data for training. A notification LED illuminates or pulses during filming or photography, automatically adjusting brightness for visibility. A multi-sensor system prevents recording if the LED is obscured, and the glasses cannot record when not being worn. Users can enable a setting allowing bystanders to say "Stop filming" to halt recording.

VIVE Eagle features premium ZEISS lenses with options for UV400 protection, bluelight blocking, or photochromic lenses, plus easy prescription lens fitting. Its transparent design earned a 2026 Red Dot award. When using third-party LLMs like OpenAI and Google Gemini, VIVE Eagle de-identifies requests, and photos and videos are encrypted and stored locally on the device.

Cher Wang, Co-Founder and Chairperson of HTC, said: "VIVE Eagle is where style meets intelligence, it taps into powerful AI tools and frees your hands so you can be more present in the moment."
