Apple announced the M5 Ultra in late August 2026 with the new Mac Studio, promising major AI and GPU gains. Leaked Geekbench scores show the M5 Ultra GPU is about 41% faster on average than the M3 Ultra.

The M5 Ultra GPU scored 360,019 points in Geekbench 7 GPU, versus 255,009 for the M3 Ultra. Against an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080, it trades blows in creative workflows, physics simulations, and photo editing, sometimes beating the gaming GPU by 22%, while losing by as much as 100% in other cases.

The M5 Ultra Mac Studio is available for pre-order from Apple starting at $6,799 for the 36-core CPU and 80-core GPU model tested. Pre-orders ship on September 22.
