New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart will undergo surgery on his left knee and miss the rest of the 2026 regular season, head coach John Harbaugh announced Wednesday. Harbaugh did not rule out a playoff return. Dart's ACL is intact, but he has damage to his meniscus, MCL, and PCL, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and ESPN's Adam Schefter. The Giants expect a full recovery for the 2027 season.

"I think he's determined. He's bummed. It's hard," Harbaugh said. "The season is not over, but it is for him." Veteran quarterback Jameis Winston will start in Dart's place beginning Sunday against the Tennessee Titans. "Me and Jaxson have talked," Winston said. "He's a warrior. He's in good spirits."

The Giants are also expected to be without standout outside linebacker Brian Burns on Sunday due to a low ankle sprain, a source told Schefter. Dart, 23, was outstanding in New York's season-opening victory over the Dallas Cowboys. The surgery to repair the torn meniscus and MCL carries a recovery timeline of approximately six months, according to sources.
