Anthony Edwards has jokes for days, and maybe a little tension left over from one of the NBA's biggest decisions of the summer. Adidas released a new advertisement Thursday morning to promote the release of Edwards' new shoe on Friday. Edwards wasted no time in getting spicy about an offseason rumor settled in late July: why LeBron James didn't sign with the Timberwolves.

"We ain't gonna play it safe. Speaking of old-school, you see where big dog ended up? He was gonna join me in Minnesota. But I guess his knees couldn't handle the cold weather," Edwards said, referring to James. James, 41, signed with the Philadelphia 76ers on July 24.

Edwards added Sixers guard Jaylen Brown into the mix of trolling, saying he knows why James landed on Philly. "Philly got some of the best barbers in the world. Between him and ol' boy from Boston, they gonna have a lotta enhancements going on in the locker room," Edwards said, referencing Brown's black hair enhancement spray.

Edwards also touched on his excitement to play with LaMelo Ball. "They brought my twin to the Twin Cities. But one thing we ain't doing is carpooling if he driving." Minnesota's matchup against Philly is on Jan. 16.
