Longtime captain Dylan Larkin will report to Red Wings training camp despite requesting a trade this offseason, though the team confirmed it will open the season without naming a captain. Out west, Kings forward Kevin Fiala will miss the start of camp after undergoing follow-up surgery on the broken leg he sustained at the Milan Cortina Olympics.

Roster Moves

The Golden Knights locked up forward Braeden Bowman on a six-year extension carrying an average annual value of $3.4M, a deal that could cover his first full season in Vegas. Meanwhile, the Ducks placed veteran Chris Kreider on waivers for contract termination, with a source saying the forward wants to play closer to the East Coast.
