DelCam Capital's portfolio company Space Age Electronics has acquired Gemcom, a specialty manufacturer of fire suppression switches, graphic annunciators and engineered signage serving the fire alarm and life safety industries, for undisclosed terms. Founded nearly four decades ago and headquartered in Burr Ridge, Illinois, Gemcom supplies critical hardware to OEM fire alarm and suppression system manufacturers.

Gemcom will operate as part of Space Age Electronics, gaining access to its national distribution network, engineering resources, expanded manufacturing capabilities, and relationships with more than 1,000 fire systems integrators across the country.

"Gemcom is a specialty manufacturer with nearly four decades of engineering excellence and deeply embedded OEM relationships," said Steve Trotta, managing partner of Del Cam Capital. He added that combining Gemcom with Space Age Electronics is expected to meaningfully expand the reach of its products while continuing investment in engineering, manufacturing quality and customer service.

The transaction marks Del Cam's latest add-on to its fire and life safety platform, following its earlier acquisition of Sprink Guard. Employees across Del Cam's platform participate in ownership and value creation alongside management and investors.
