Apple is forecast to release Apple Glass by the end of 2027, according to Mark Gurman's Bloomberg 'Power On' newsletter. The smart glasses aim to be thin and light, featuring audio, camera, and smart capabilities without a display initially. A later version may include a video display.

Apple continues to develop its head-mounted computing efforts, building on the Apple Vision Pro and Siri access via AirPods. Gurman also notes Apple is working on a completely revamped headset, codenamed N224, exploring concepts like offloading components to a puck-like device. Senior staff reportedly prefer an all-in-one design over tethered batteries due to user experience concerns, though making it cheaper and lighter remains an engineering challenge.

No launch guarantee exists for the new headset. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously forecast a late 2027 shipping schedule for Apple Glass in June 2025. Earlier predictions had pointed to late 2026 or early 2027.

Current speculation draws parallels to Meta's Ray-Ban smart glasses partnership.
