Qualcomm and MediaTek have unveiled their flagship chipsets for 2027 devices, with phones like the OPPO Find X10 Pro Max, Vivo X500 Pro Max, and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max already available in China. This year's Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 and Dimensity 9600 Pro both utilize TSMC's 2nm manufacturing node, a significant upgrade from the 3nm used in the past three years. Both platforms include LPDDR6 and UFS 5.0 storage integration.

Qualcomm leverages its custom-core design with two main cores reaching 5GHz, using a 2+6 core configuration with six Performance cores up to 4.0GHz. The chipset features 16MB cache and touts 13% increased performance with 37% efficiency gains. MediaTek uses Arm's latest cores in a 2+3+3 configuration, with two C2-Ultra cores at 4.55GHz and six C2-Pro cores split between 4.35GHz and 3.1GHz clusters.

MediaTek claims 17% performance increase with 61% better energy efficiency in multi-core workloads. On the GPU front, Qualcomm touts 44% performance gains and 40% efficiency improvements with its Adreno matrix cores, while MediaTek lists 27% performance gains and 24% better efficiency at load. Qualcomm includes advanced ISP features like 3K60 video and slow-motion 4K240 capture.
