Google has announced two new accessibility features for the September Android Drop. Motion Assist is designed to reduce motion sickness for users in vehicles. It adds a subtle bubble overlay that moves with the vehicle's motion, helping bridge the gap between what the eyes see and the ride's movement. Users can activate it via Quick Settings or set it to turn on automatically when the phone detects movement in a car, bus, or train. Customization options are available to tailor the experience.

Guided Vision leverages Gemini Live to provide audio descriptions of the user's surroundings. By sharing the camera, Gemini Live can read fine print, identify household objects, or help navigate menus in low-lit environments. If the subject leaves the frame, the AI guides the user back into view. This feature requires Android 9 or newer and the Gemini app. It can be added to Accessibility shortcuts or launched through the TalkBack menu, offering greater independence for users with visual impairments.

Google is rolling out Motion Assist immediately on Android 17 devices. Guided Vision is arriving soon on compatible devices. These updates highlight Google's focus on comfort and accessibility, proving that AI can be a practical tool for improving daily life rather than just a novelty.
