XChat, X's standalone messaging app for iPhone and iPad, is currently unavailable on the App Store. The reason for its removal is unclear. The Android version appears to be readily available on the Google Play Store.

XChat launched earlier this year as a standalone version of direct messaging between X users. "I think XChat iOS app just disappeared," tweeted Zac Hall (@apollozac) on September 14, 2026.
