Stryker announced the completion of the first surgical procedure using an innovative new app on Apple Vision Pro. The surgery, a hip arthroscopy, was completed using Sport Suite Vision, an app that brings digital content into a surgeon's virtual space, including arthroscopic video, Hip Check, Hip Map, and CT imaging.

Sport Suite Vision received FDA De Novo authorization on July 17, making it the first app the FDA has authorized for intraoperative use with Vision Pro. The hip arthroscopy was completed at Duke Health. Chad Mather III, the orthopedic surgeon who performed the operation, said spatial computing enabled him to customize the placement of key clinical information within the sterile field.

Separately, Pfizer announced it is using Apple Vision Pro in collaboration with Groove Jones to create an immersive mixed reality experience illustrating its commitment to "outdo cancer." Apple Vision Pro's ability to blend digital and real worlds provided the canvas to showcase Pfizer's oncology leadership.
