Apple announced this week that creators will soon be able to offer video through Apple Podcasts Subscriptions, including subscriber-exclusive episodes, ad-free video, early access, and bonus content. Back in 2021, Apple launched Apple Podcasts Subscriptions, allowing creators to offer paid subscriptions with perks like ad-free listening and bonus episodes. Since then, paid subscriptions have been available in over 170 countries and regions.

With the podcast market shifting toward video, Apple has expanded video across its platform. Earlier this year, Apple introduced an HLS-based video podcast experience with features like full-screen viewing and offline downloads. With iOS 27, Apple added read-along transcripts, chapters, and playback on Mac and Apple TV.

Now, video is coming to Apple Podcasts Subscriptions, letting creators offer subscriber-exclusive video, ad-free video, early access, and bonus content through the same system used for premium audio. Apple says this opens new opportunities for creators to connect with audiences and grow their businesses. Delivery will be streamlined, with both audio and video handled seamlessly, and audiences can enjoy premium video across Apple devices and the web.

Apple is currently working with hosting providers to make integration seamless and will share more details in the coming months.
