Apple maintained its lead in the global true wireless stereo (TWS) market with 16.8 million units shipped in Q2 2026, a 1.2% year-over-year increase, capturing 20.5% market share. The overall TWS market declined 0.7% year over year. Xiaomi followed at 10.4%, Samsung at 6.7%, Huawei at 6.2%, and OPPO at 5.0%. OPPO, including OnePlus devices, was the only other top-five vendor to grow, rising 14.9%.

Open wireless stereo (OWS) shipments grew 12%, led by Shokz with 1.1 million units and 10.3% share, up 107.9% year over year. Sanag held 7.6%, Huawei 7.0%, Baseus 6.6%, and Edifier 5.4%. At its "Surprise and Shine" event, Apple's VP of Hardware Engineering, Dave Pakula, called the new AirPods 5 the company's "beloved open-ear fit" with "the industry's best ANC in an open-ear design," though Omdia did not classify non-Pro AirPods as OWS.

Omdia forecasts OWS shipments will nearly double from 43.9 million in 2026 to 90.5 million by 2030, reaching nearly one in five TWS shipments.
