US stock futures erased early gains to briefly touch session lows on Friday after the US added 162,000 jobs in August, raising concerns that the Federal Reserve may hike interest rates soon. The S&P 500 Index slipped 0.2% as of 9:46 a.m. in New York, led by declines in energy as US oil prices fell below $90. The Nasdaq 100 Index rose 0.4%, with SanDisk Corp. among the best performers.

The S&P 500 is 0.3% higher this week, while the Nasdaq 100 is up 0.5%. US markets are closed on Monday for the Labor Day holiday.
