Taiwan has proposed more than $13 billion in funding, mainly for its state-run energy companies, to secure liquefied natural gas and shield electricity users when a price freeze expires at the end of the month. The cabinet on Thursday finalized a supplementary budget that includes a NT$234 billion ($7.4 billion) capital injection and a further NT$100 billion-plus in subsidies for CPC Corp., the company responsible for importing LNG for power generation. The measures aim to ensure energy stability amid global supply disruptions.

Taiwan's state-run enterprises will receive critical support to maintain LNG imports and protect consumers from price volatility in the coming months.
