U.S. equity futures were mixed early Thursday after major averages snapped a three-day losing streak. Stocks closed higher Wednesday, with the Dow gaining nearly 300 points and the S&P 500 and Nasdaq each rising 0.5%. In Asia, markets closed mixed, with Japan's Nikkei sliding 0.17% and South Korea's Kospi rising 0.26%.

The 2-year Treasury yield hit 4.41%, its highest level since January 2025, while 10-year yields touched 4.818%. Oil prices rose modestly, with West Texas Intermediate closing just above $91 a barrel. New York Fed President John Williams attributed rising yields to solid economic prospects and record corporate profits, stating they are the result of a strong U.S. economy and investments in AI and data centers.

Earlier week tensions saw U.S. and Iran exchange strikes after officials signaled a shift to economic sanctions. On Thursday, traders eye weekly jobless claims ahead of Friday's August payrolls report. Earnings due include Ciena and Campbell's morning, with Zscaler, Docusign, and Ui Path reporting afternoon.

Europe opened mixed, with Germany's DAX up 0.1% while the FTSE and CAC slipped. The yen surged over 1% against the dollar, brushing a one-month high of 156.34, following joint U.S.-Japan intervention at month's end.
