KKR & Co. expects more dealmaking opportunities in South Korea after investing around $3 billion this year, betting on the country's central role in the global artificial-intelligence supply chain to fuel demand for data centers and power.

The 2026 investments mark a record annual tally for the US buyout firm in Korea, according to Bloomberg calculations based on disclosed transaction values and ownership stakes.

Beyond the AI build-out, new avenues are emerging as the country's conglomerates reshape their business empires and show willingness to bring in outside investors.
