IFM Investors Targets Asia Expansion in Private Credit Fund

Australia’s IFM Investors plans to deploy up to half of a roughly $1 billion private credit fund to Asian markets beyond Australia and New Zealand. Co-head of APAC diversified credit Hiran Wanigasekera stated the firm aims to allocate 25%–35% to other Asian markets, primarily Southeast and South Asia, in the near term. The open-ended fund currently concentrates on Australia and New Zealand.

IFM intends to eventually balance the portfolio at roughly half in Asia, with the remainder in its home markets. The expansion reflects the firm’s view of untapped opportunities and more favorable deal structures for lenders across the region.
