ANZ Group is undergoing a major revamp under new CEO Nuno Matos, with at least 10 senior bankers departing by October. Key exits include Hong Kong-based John Corrin, head of corporate finance, international, and Andrew Harward, head of corporate finance, North Asia and structured asset finance, international, both leaving on Oct. 1. Singapore-based Ian Mathews, executive director for project, export and sustainable finance, will begin gardening leave early next month.

Sydney-based David Roberts, executive director for innovative transition solutions, and Aaron Ross, global head of project, export & asset finance, are also departing. Corrin and Harward have spent over 16 years at the bank, while Mathews has been there for nearly 30 years. As part of the overhaul, ANZ is discontinuing its non-bank ESG origination and independent financial advisory function.

Since taking the helm in May last year, Matos has led efforts to reduce duplication and costs, targeting a reduction of around 3,500 employees, representing roughly 8% of the firm's 42,000 staff. A year into his tenure, ANZ reported first-half profit surpassing analysts' estimates. The bank has appointed former Chief Risk Officer Kevin Corbally to run a new business unit combining corporate finance, research & analysis and capital management teams.
