Liverpool striker Alexander Isak has returned to his club after picking up a minor thigh injury while on international duty with Sweden. The 27-year-old will miss Sweden's remaining three Nations League matches and will be assessed by Liverpool's medical staff. Isak played the full 90 minutes and scored in Sweden's 2-1 win over Romania on Friday.

Swedish coach Graham Potter confirmed the issue is minor but noted the congested fixture schedule prevents Isak from participating further. He added it is frustrating for both player and team. Isak has begun the season strongly with four goals in five Premier League games for Liverpool.

His first season at the club, following a £125m move from Newcastle, was disrupted by injury, limiting him to 14 Premier League appearances and three goals.
