Celtic chief executive Michael Nicholson has confirmed the club will support manager Martin O'Neill following a difficult period. O'Neill, 74, had hinted at stepping down after two defeats to Rangers and a home loss to Ferencvaros. However, Nicholson emphasized O'Neill's contributions, noting he has delivered nine trophies over two spells.

The backing comes after a 1-0 derby defeat at Celtic Park. The announcement follows financial results showing a revenue drop of nearly £33m. A loss of £4.8m is largely attributed to missing the Champions League, after Celtic squandered a 4-0 aggregate lead against LASK.

Nicholson stated reaching the league phase of the Champions League is an objective, and they are sorry not to have achieved it. The club will now focus on domestic success and the Europa League.
