China's Sunny Optical has reportedly begun trial production of actuators for the advanced camera system, while LG Innotek is on track to start manufacturing camera modules between June and July.

LG Innotek has installed dedicated equipment at its Gumi plant in South Korea specifically for producing variable aperture cameras. This specialized setup indicates the company's commitment to meeting Apple's production requirements for the innovative camera technology. The variable aperture feature represents a significant upgrade for iPhone photography, allowing users to control depth of field and improve low-light performance.

The iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max are expected to be the first iPhones to feature this technology, which has been rumored multiple times and is now considered highly likely.
