Google Drive can get messy, and its search isn't great for organizing. Google recently introduced a tool called Organize My Files, powered by Gemini, to help. It suggests where to move loose files based on your structure.

To use it, you need a Google AI Pro or AI Ultra subscription (AI Pro is $20 per month with 5TB storage and YouTube Premium Lite). It's also available to Business, Enterprise, and Education customers, but not for personal files on work accounts or shared folders. You must enable Smart features in Google Workspace.

Open Google Drive on the web, select My Drive, and click Suggest file moves. Review Gemini's suggestions and approve changes via checkboxes. Gemini may recommend new folders. It won't rename files, so it works best if your files are already named and follow a hierarchy. If you have many untitled documents, Gemini may not help much.
