Apple's John Ternus, currently head of hardware engineering, will take over as CEO on September 1, replacing Tim Cook after nearly 15 years. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Ternus brings a fundamentally different leadership style to the role.

Unlike Cook, who takes a hands-off approach to product decisions by asking questions rather than choosing between options, Ternus will make decisive calls. One person who worked closely with both executives said: "If you go to Tim with 'A' or 'B,' he won't pick. It could be right or wrong, but at least it's a decision." This marks the end of Apple's collective executive decision-making era.

Apple selected Ternus believing he will "reinvent" the product lineup and maintain sharper focus. He pushed for the MacBook Neo and was more cautious about Vision Pro—which flopped despite billions invested—and the cancelled Apple Car project, which cost roughly $10 billion.
