Luke Littler successfully defended his World Matchplay title, defeating Gerwyn Price 18-9 in a dominant performance. The 19-year-old secured his second consecutive Matchplay crown in Blackpool, joining an elite group of players to achieve this feat.

Littler's victory was marked by exceptional play, as he set new tournament and final average records. He finished the week with an astonishing average of 111.04, surpassing Phil Taylor's previous record of 106.31 from 2010. In the final itself, Littler registered an average of 111.53, edging out Taylor's 2013 record of 111.23.

With this win, Littler claimed £225,000 in prize money, bringing his total PDC order of merit earnings to £3,143,500. This places him significantly ahead of his nearest competitor. Gerwyn Price also had a strong tournament, finishing with an average of 104.97 in the final and climbing to fourth in the order of merit.
